MasterMind® Systems, Inc. has more than 20 years of experience in highway data acquisition and traffic safety software development. Our Customers include DOT's, County and Township highway departments, City street departments and striper companies. We are the leader in road data collection services.
- Our objective is to provide inventory services and asset management software that can be utilized to program, budget, perform, and complete traffic safety related and right of way maintenance work. Our services and software are marketed under the MasterMind® logo.
MasterMind® has performed traffic safety studies for governing agencies in:
- Ohio (ODOT & all 88 Counties), New York, Indiana, Michigan, Colorado, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, Montana, Wyoming, and Canada.

Corporate History
MasterMind® was incorporated on March 31, 1987. The original name for the Corporation was MasterMind®, Inc. In 1990 the name was amended to MasterMind Systems, Inc. which is the current name of the Corporation.
Bruce Hickman and Christina Hickman are the founders and owners of the Corporation. MasterMind® was created to perform traffic safety studies for the Ohio Department of Transportation. The Company has been very successful utilizing emerging and existing technology to solve problems and address situations in the Traffic Safety Industry.
The first traffic safety study to be performed was a "No Passing Zone" study. The first contract was for the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 office. MasterMind® quickly dominated this specialized field utilizing its custom built systems. Out of five Companies originally performing the "No Passing Zone Study", MasterMind® is the only one still performing this service today.
A major Ohio Department of Transportation project was completed in 2008. The project split into three phases involved performing a "No Passing Zone" study on all two lane State routes in Ohio. The project was started in 2002 and completed in 2008. Sixteen thousand (16,000) miles of roads were successfully logged all without a single accident or incident. MasterMind® Software was provided as part of the project and our exclusive "No Passing Zone" logs have been posted on ODOT's web site for each road in each District. The logs are usually listed under planning - no passing zone logs. District 9 has them listed on their main page under centerline logs.

Bruce Hickman - President
Bruce along with his wife Christina co-founded MasterMind in 1984. When the Company was incorporated in 1987, Bruce became its first President. Bruce's current responsibilities include accounting, operations, marketing, sales, and field studies. Bruce is also responsible for designing and installing the patented vehicular computer systems used by MasterMind. Bruce holds Bachelor's degrees in Electrical and Industrial Engineering.
Christina Hickman, RN - Vice President
Christina's current responsibilities include bookkeeping, corporate records, marketing, and sales. Christina is also the corporate safety, health, and personnel coordinator. Christina, who is the creator of the name MasterMind, is a Registered Nurse. She has worked for numerous hospitals and doctors in Ohio and Virginia. Christina brings a multitude of experience to the Company.
Nicholas Hickman - Director - Marketing / Development
Nick has been with the company since 2004. He is currently responsible for the design and creation of all MasterMind® software products including the new highly anticipated SignMaster™ 7. Nick has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science - Systems Analyst, and is essential to our software and hardware development.
Andrew Simpkins - Director - Operations
Andy has been with the company since 2001. He is currently responsible for overseeing all study information from field to customer. Andy also helps with our office systems, operations, marketing, sales and technical support. He created and maintains the company Internet web site. Andy is working on his degree in Computer Science.
Nathan Hickman, EIT - System Analysts Product Development
Nathan has been with the company since 2001. Nathan is a part time MasterMind employee and is employed full time by NASA working on the space shuttle in Cape Canaveral Florida. Nate has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, and is essential to our software and hardware development.
George Graham - System Analysts Product Development
George has been with the company since 1995. George works on the design and creation of MasterMind® software products. George has a Bachelor's Degree in Systems Analysis from Miami University. Prior to joining the Company he worked for the Foxpro® Corporation designing the popular Foxpro® database product.
David Tuttle, P.E. - New York Sales, and Quality Control
Dave is a consultant for MasterMind. We use him as our New York State liaison. He also helps with our quality control program. Dave who has a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering resides in Pittsford NY.
