Easily Locate Any Guardrail Assembly

Once your inventory is entered, locating an existing guardrail assembly is easy. You can select the route the assembly is on and simply scroll down to the log point. Different types of assemblies are clearly defined – bridge rail assemblies display as red and regular rail displays as blue. Right-of-Way work displays as black. Any incomplete work items associated with guardrail are easily viewed by clicking on the record.

With the Find button, you can also locate any guardrail assembly by the Rail # assigned by RailMaster, or bridges by YOUR Bridge ID number.

Flexibility

RailMaster's flexibility lets you set up your DOT's rail type descriptions. Then it uses those for calculating rail, posts, spacer blocks, and end treatments. To start your initial inventory, all that is needed is the begin and end milepoints, side of road, and your DOT's rail type. RailMaster will calculate the piece count for you.

Right-of-Way Maintenance

Road grading work, tree removal, or any other right-of-way maintenance problems are easily logged in. You can also define a hazard and its offset from edge of pavement. This is handy for defining your most critical problems when you're ready to sent out crews.

Inspections

The built-in Inspection Wizard walks you through guardrail, bridge rail, and R-O-W inspection entry. Inspections can be logged in by road or just a part of a road. You have the ability to 'batch add' multiple inspections at a time with only a few keystrokes. Having a record of your regular inspections helps protect you in case of any litigation. The information is easily accessible any time you may need it.

Store GPS, XYZ Coordinate Info

RailMaster can store Global Positioning System (GPS) and XYZ coordinate information you have gathered for each guardrail or bridge assembly in your agency. This information is stored with the rail's other location information and can be imported into your GIS system for mapping purposes.

Attach and view multiple photos of each rail or bridge assembly in BMP, GIF or JPG format.

Guardrail & R-O-W Work

The Work Item window displays all work cataloged in the system. This could include guardrail or bridge rail maintenance, new or additional installation of guardrail, or right-of-way problems that need to be addressed. Filter down the list by route, type of work, type of hazard, etc. using our pre-defined descriptions or add your own. Highlight the work items you need and batch assign them to a work order. Once the work is complete for guardrail, fill in the completion data and time and RailMaster will guide you through adding any rail that was installed. For R-O-W work, fill in the completion data and time and you're done. All work is filed away in history for easy recall any time you may need it.

Reports

RailMaster is loaded with a generous amount of predefined and customizable reports to meet your needs. Rail Total reports define your guardrail down to the foot. Detail reports can be used for creating plans. Summary reports give you the big picture.
